CHRIST IS RISEN! INDEED HE IS RISEN! HAPPY AND BLESSED EASTER TO ALL! BUONA PASQUA!

As we celebrate this very special holyday of Easter, let us first remember the origins of the Volto Santo known as the Holy Face of Jesus. In John's Gospel 20: So Peter and the other disciple went out and came to the tomb. They both ran, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter and arrived at the tomb first; he bent down and saw the burial cloths there, but did not go in. When Simon Peter arrived after him, he went into the tomb and saw the burial cloths there, and the cloth that had covered his head, not with the burial cloths but rolled up in a separate place. Then the other disciple also went in, the one who had arrived at the tomb first, and he saw and believed. You are looking at exactly what St. John first saw in the tomb that Easter morning. Only John could now say he saw and believed because he was the only apostle at the foot of the cross and saw the wounds on the Face of our Lord. In the Volto Santo some of the wounds are in a state of healing.

The following are a few different images of the Volto Santo, Happy and Blessed Easter! Buona Pasqua a tutti!

"BLESSING FROM JESUS" written by Padre Domenico da Cese.

"LORD JESUS

Look at me, bless me and acknowledge my presence by nodding your head to me.

LORD JESUS

Have mercy and give me your peace.

LORD JESUS

Give me your holy blessing and protect me from all harm."

May our Risen Lord bless all of you this Easter!
